Lt. Randolph is the commander of the Los Angeles Police Department's Officer Involved Shooting Unit. He worked with detective Reggie Osani.
In September of 2006, he was assigned to investigate Detective Harry Bosch's actions during the escape and subsequent pursuit of serial killer Raynard Waits. Following the resolution of the case, Randolph attempted to pressure Bosch into omitting details of the investigation that implicated District Attorney candidate Richard O'Shea because he believed that O'Shea would be an attorney sympathetic towards the LAPD.
