The Hollywood Star Motel is a motor-inn located in Los Angeles.
In February 1996, motel maid Evangeline Crowder was murdered by William Gladden in his room because she might have seen his computer with child pornography on it. He cut her body into pieces and put them in the drawers of a bureau. She was 19 years of age at the time of her death and had an infant son. The murder was investigated by LAPD homicide detective Ed Thomas. A fingerprint left at the scene led to the identification of Gladden.
