A gold bracelet with jade inlay was pawned by Billy Meadows at the Happy Hocker in May of 1992 for $800.
The bracelet had been stolen from a safety-deposit box as part of a bank robbery the previous year. On the morning of 20 May 1992, the bracelet was stolen again from the Happy Hocker by associates of Meadows'.
